I have had this cage (and my first 2 pigs) for 9 months now, so I feel qualified to write a review about it. As a first time pig owner I was a bit overwhelmed about creating an adequate and enriching cage for my girls, and I think this cage starter kit is a great place to start! It was fairly easy to set up by myself, just a bit time-consuming. The instructions are thorough and provide picures. I bought the large size for my 2 female pigs and I have felt like that is a good size for them to eat, play, and sleep harmoniously. They get regular time outside of their cage but I personally feel like large (or even bigger) is ideal for 2 pigs if they are going to be spending any significant time in the cage like mine do while I am at work/sleeping. For me the cage has held up really well for the most part! I also bought the corresponding-sized Piggy Bedspreads and that was a great decision! They are much easier than having to change out disposable bedding since my pigs pee mostly in the "kitchen" area where I have disposable Carefresh shavings. With the Piggy Bedspreads always covering the Coroplast "floor," it is still just as clean-looking as when it came in the mail (and I bought white)! The same cannot be said for the kitchen floor, but that is understandable as the pigs use the bathroom the most in that area. This doesn't bother me personally as this area is always covered with shavings and there is no lasting odor. The hay feeder that comes with this cage has served me well, but I do think it is due for being replaced at the 9 month mark. First of all, and this is on me, I chose clear which was...not a great choice, especially for the hay feeder lol. Hay and hay dust has gotten into the grooves of the Coroplast so even when it's freshly wiped down, it never really looks clean. Also, my pigs have chewed the plastic quite a bit around the holes which isn't my favorite habit as I don't really want them to be consuming plastic like that. Finally, my pigs who are now about 10 months old, have become strong enough to cause quite some havoc in their cage, including ripping the hay feeder off of the wall where it is attached via the included large binder clips. While this isn't exactly a problem, about once a week I come home from work to the hay feeder on the ground halfway across the cage. I have decided to upgrade to the Foraging Hayrack sold on here as it is metal which should solve my first couple issues with my current one, and appears to attach more securely which should solve my final issue. I would like to mention that I have moved twice in the time that I've had this cage (once fully diassembling and reassembling it, and the other time basically just putting it in my car with the back seats laid down and moving it as is), and I haven't had issues either time. Obviously if you do this, you may need some extra zip/cable ties, but the kit comes with extra and those are pretty cheap to purchase. Overall, this cage has worked great for my pigs and I and I have no regrets about purchasing or not going with a different brand. I love that pretty much all of the cage parts on this website are compatible so you can build/change it over time. I have just bought a loft add-on and am excited to see how the girls like that addition. I think the price for this kit is very reasonable considering what is included and the quality of the pieces. Additionally, I think it's great that you can order basically anything a la carte to customize/replace the cage. I think it's also a good option because of the partnership with Piggy Bedspreads which I mentioned I'm a fan of. I highly recommed this product, especially for first-time guinea pig owners who are unsure of where to start!
