Adopting & Pairing

It's strongly encouraged to adopt a non-breeding or same sex guinea pig PAIR, not just one. In fact, it's illegal in some countries to have a single guinea pig as they are very social animals who thrive in the company of other guinea pigs. The presence of other guinea pigs allows them to communicate, play, and groom each other. A lone guinea pig may become bored and lonely, which could lead to stress or depression. If you decide to get a guinea pig, it's best to get at least a pair to ensure they live happy and healthy lives.
Please don't buy a guinea pig in a pet store, as there are many guinea pig rescues and private adoptions available in the US.
We'll be adding more Guinea Pig Rescues in the coming months! Please contact us sales@guineapigcagecompany.com with your information and website if you'd like to be listed.
