Small Coroplast® Base
I have the original cage where you had to tape the sides together. The new plastic clips are great addition!
Okay Im pretty sure Im the first person to try this so I feel the need to share, this size chloroplast base will fit Perfectly into the You&Me brand dog kennel size X-Large! https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/you-and-me-1-door-folding-dog-crate I have Bengal cats and a high prey drive dog that have been scratching at my new guinea pigs store bought cage and I even tried a hutch, but nothing was working. I knew I wanted to try a c&c cage but the grids with connectors and zip ties would bend under my other pets attempts to get in (they dont have free access to the guinea pig area but it still worried me in the event something were to happen as my guinea pig is fearless and wont run away from their attempts to get into his cage). So, I used the online measurements of the product and matched it with a sturdy dog crate and it is working great! My advice if you try this is to put the chloroplast into the crate before applying rivets as I did not do this and still got the base into the crate but had to work a little harder to get it through the door. Also, if you have the same situation as me, connect your grids to the outside of the dog kennel to make crate bar spacing smaller. This is my long awaited solution to a comfortable, safe, and sturdy home for my guinea pig. (Also if you are wondering why I dont have 2 pigs its because we got him specifically due to his inability to live with other pigs as he is too dominant and the rescue would only adopt him out as a single guy so stop judging lol).
Thank you, it fits and looks great. Im not sure if it should have came with holes for the rivets or not, and mine did not have holes, but it wasnt a big deal.
CCCages: Yes--so sorry, it should have had nice, neat holes punched for the rivets. I'll email you.
I bought a hay holder, a Coro base and a cavy cafe and spent over a hundred dollars, I was so happy that my guinea pigs would have an a amazing cage and fun, awesome, and conventional accessories. But after I built it, the Coro base and cafe was way too big for my c&c cage and nothing I bought fits. I measured it and it said it was 3.4 feet wide and thats not what the website says, but I could be wrong. I am very disappointed because I just set up their cage one a table that was just the right size for their cage and now I have to buy a new expensive table, build a whole new cage and spend a lot of money I thought I saved by buying this product. I dont think this product fits all brands of c&c cages
Thank you for your review. We just wanted to clarify. Heres the Small Coro base description: Interior: 27x41 (7.5 Square Feet of cage space) Exterior: 30x 44 (When assembled with grids) You can, however, reduce the size of the coroplast if youre a little handy, although we cant help with your particular measurements. If you havent used the base at all, or the kitchen, you can return it. Let us know what youd like to do.
I have two males who do not get along at all, but it is important to me, as well as them, that they be close to each other. I had more than enough grids to make two separate 2x3 cages, so I ordered two bases. Their cages are completely connected, but extra grids, down the middle, act as a barrier, so they both feel safe and comfortable, but can still interact when they want to. I love the coroplast colors I chose, but I also love the fact that I can order other colors when I want or need to, and it wont break the bank. Their room is so bright and cheery now! The bases are literally a simple snap to put together and everyone who meets my piglets or sees pictures compliments their home, the size, the uniqueness, and how happy they are. I love my boys and I love seeing them happy! :) Shipping was also super fast!
